UNCERTAINTIES IN FIRE TEST DATA AND THE LIMITATIONS OF APPLYING ENGINEERING ANALYSIS
(03.04.24)
- David Morrisset joined us to talk about the uncertainties in fire test data and the limitations of applying engineering analysis. The findings David will talk about detail why the uncertainties are present and how they are fundamental in our understanding of practical fire engineering. Through physical explanation of the processes involved, we can see why two HRR-time curves of the same object burnt in the same lab, in the same way, may be so vastly different.

What Does a Building Safety Case Actually Look Like? (02.06.21)
- The Draft Building Safety Bill defines a Safety Case Report as "A structured argument, supported by a body of evidence that provides a compelling, comprehensive, evidenced and valid case as to how the Accountable Person is proactively managing fire and structural risks to prevent a major incident and limit the consequences to people in and around the building". But what does that actually look like?
- We are delighted to have Brent O'Halloran, a chartered builder and housing consultant working with Clarion Housing Group, and Melissa Dillon, Head of Regeneration and Development for the London Borough of Camden, giving their perspectives on the subject. These organisations are early adopters who have already begun to produce safety cases for their high rise residential buildings. This webinar will be an opportunity for us to learn from them about the process.
